Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Common Grounds collects, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.

1. What we collect

When you contact us through the form on this site we collect your name, email address and the content of your message. When you place an order or open a catering account, we collect the details needed to fulfill and bill for it.

We also collect limited technical data automatically — the pages you view, your approximate region, your browser and device type — through the analytics described in our cookie policy.

2. Why we use it

To reply to your inquiries, to take and fulfill orders, to run our loyalty and catering programs, to improve the site, and to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We only send marketing email if you have asked us to, and every message includes a one-click way to stop them.

3. We do not sell your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that ever changes we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.

4. Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the service providers who help us operate — our website host, our analytics provider, our payment processor, our mobile ordering partner and our delivery partners — and only to the extent they need it to do that work.

We may disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or to protect our rights, property or safety.

5. How long we keep it

Contact form messages are kept for twenty-four months. Order and accounting records are kept as long as federal and New York State tax law requires. Analytics data is retained in aggregated form only.

6. Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy law.

Write to hello@commongroundsnyc.com and we will respond within forty-five days. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

7. Security

The site is served over HTTPS and access to personal data is limited to the members of our team who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you give us.

8. Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will remove it.

9. Contact

Reach us at hello@commongroundsnyc.com, at (212) 555-0148, or at 112 W 44th St, New York, NY 10036.
